There was a water leak in the Youth Services area on Monday, January 26th. This wing will be closed until further notice. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause to our Youth population. The Sydney Wright Room is being used for storage during this time, so it will be unavailable. The Blue Conference Room is also unavailable. The rest of the library is open for normal business. We thank you for your understanding.

Volunteer

Volunteers provide much-needed services at our Library. These services vary by the volunteer’s personal interest and our current needs.

Volunteer opportunities may involve:
  • Shelving or repairing materials (training is provided and required)
  • Helping with special events such as setup at book sales or Summer Reading Program finale party
  • And other tasks as needed, up to staff discretion!

If you are an adult and interested in sharing your talents and expertise with the Jamestown Philomenian Library, please contact our Library Director, Lisa Sheley, at lisa@jplri.org. You will need to complete a Volunteer Agreement, as well as a BCI background check. We do not have any open Adult Volunteer positions available but would be happy to hold on to a completed volunteer application for potential future openings.

For youth in grades 7 through 12, please visit Teen Volunteers for the most up-to-date information. Contact our Youth Services Librarian, Colleen LeBeau, at colleen@jplri.org. You will need to complete a Teen Volunteer Application which requires a parent/guardian's signature.
