In the first book we meet Mrs. Virgil (Emily) Pollifax of New Brunswick, New Jersey, a widowwith grown, married children. She is tired of attending her Garden Club meetings and wants to do something good for her country. So, naturally, she becomes a CIA agent. She akes on a “job” in Mexico City.
