Panama is a birders paradise. Approximately the size of South Carolina, Panama has close to 1,000 species of bird compared with 914 bird species in all of North America. Being a land bridge between Central and South America, Panama has an amazing diversity of resident tropical birds, while hundreds of species of neotropical migrants overwinter in the country.
A group of birders, led by RI ornithologist Charles Clarkson, visited the Panama highlands in March of 2019. Wayne Munns, along with other trip participants will present a slide show depicting sightings and experiences encountered there.
All are welcome!
