Lecture about native plants Monday night

The Quononoquott Garden Club is sponsoring a lecture by the former president of the Rhode Island Wild Plant Society at 6 p.m. June 12 at the library, 26 North Road.

Karen Asher’s lecture, which will follow a brief business meeting among club members, is titled “Ecological Gardening with Rhode Island Native Plants.” A native plant specialist, she will explain methods to turn backyard gardens into living ecosystems for wildlife. Asher also will present varieties of native plants and flowers while suggesting places to buy them.

Everyone in attendance will receive a small gift. Refreshments will be served. To learn more about becoming a Quononoquott member, call Jeanne Archambault at 423-2823.
